wallaceyolicia.com-Best_swiss_luxury_hotels_2017_schweizerhof_bern_room_suitLast week, I had the pleasure to be part of “Cognac & Dine” event which made me dive into my recent Paris trip with Hennessy de Cognac nostalgia. However, unlike the last paris location, the evening diner was hosted for the first time at the five stars Schweizerhof hotel in bern, the new ambassador of Moët Hennessy Cognac. In fact, the main goal was to symbolize the start of this enjoyable collaboration between the two luxurious houses with a fine dinner. This could then explain, the sensual experience we’d experienced during that evening with dishes that were accompanied with delightful Hennessy de Cognac that slowly emphasized the excellence of the dinner.

Firstly, the evening itself started at the lobby lounge bar with a fine aperitif where our senses could already be refreshed with a cognac — a perfect enjoyment and companion for good conversation at the bar isn’t it? Well, if you want to savor long drinks,then you can appreciate Hennessy de cognac because of the taste sustains. Then came an elaborate dinner at the Jack’s Restaurant part of the Schweizerhof hotel which offered us a varied menu including a mixture of modern and traditional specialities but also its classically French touch style cuisine. Therefore, savoring a meal with a glass of wine would definitely be a common thing to do but, not many people realize that cognac can also provide a richer dining experience. Plus,  ” A cognac can enhance the flavor because the original aroma comes from wine” which means that the core aroma of a cognac, especially the old ones, is an old wine-based aroma. This said, the fine dining we enjoyed was sumptuously accompanied with  4 selection of the high-end cognac from the House of Hennessy. One of them ” Le Paradis Imperial ” was my absolutely favorite one, a perfect hint of sophisticated refinement, where aromas of jasmine and orange blossom were spiced with smoky accents. I noticed its surprising bottle that featured an exquisite cabochon with 18-carat gold-plated label.

Even though, the evening ended up by a final Hennessy de cognac degustation at the Cigar lounge, I couldn’t stay any longer since studies and blogging affairs where calling for attention from my laptop. I took however the time to appreciate the modernism and hint of contemporary charm the sleek hotel was offering to its guets. Therefore, I cannot miss to mention the luxurious rooms combined with elegant and traditional interior design. Indeed, the classic and restored chandeliers were creating harmonious lighting, while the luxurious bathrooms were more urbane and modern. Unfortunately, I hadn’t much time to enjoy the hotel’s pamper pool, sauna and hammam facilities, as well as fitness or the unparalleled Sky Terrace which is offering a 360° panorama over the rooftops of the Old Town (too cold outside), but, I won’t miss another opportunity if the occasion shows up in the near future.
