Blogging is a great way to reach a large audience of readers. However, whatever the reason you want to blog about then promoting contents on your social medias, a good blog post takes time to create and get it just right so it will be worth reading. This is why, I’m about to share with you useful tips to craft amazing articles that I hope, will serve you very well as a beginner blogger regardless of your blog niche.
First of all, remember that your blog has an unlimited space for posts and images, use it then! Don’t be afraid to focus on one aspect of a topic and then expand on another aspect in another blog post(you have much more to say). Therefore, organizing your content with a specific topic can lead to pages and pages of relevant information. However, let’s be clear: most online followers or readers have short attention which means they likely won’t spend hours pouring over your blog post. So you have to work on saying the most you can in the fewest words even though I know it might be complicate sometimes. After this first step, don’t forget to create an outline for the post by breaking the topic down into sections, short paragraphs, or subtitles. Create a separate section for your writing and then a separate section with the pictures for instance. Or if you are writing a post with your wish-list of the month, then use numbers to organize your post content.
Don’t ignore the use of bold text – it’s an unforgettable mistake. In fact, bolding several other important points throughout your blog post, as it emphasize a point, highlight strong keywords and makes skimming or scanning through any article, a whole lot easier. Plus, there’s probably a percentage of your audience that’s using to scan through your article before reading deeper into it. As you understood, styling your blog post by going ahead without bolding every other word on all your posts, will make it more aesthetically appealing. Apart from bolding, you can use other types of font styles as well, such as Italics that dampen a phrase to make it sound softer. In fact, the purpose of Bolds and Italics is to make your audience differentiate certain keywords from the rest of the blog post paragraph.
The last and most important thing is to determine your writing style. Get some ideas for your own blog by checking interesting details in other people’s blogs. You’ll also be able to determine what you don’t like about someone blog post, topic etc. For example, if you’ve started your fashion blog, try to scroll through other popular fashion and lifestyle blogs, notice their layout, contents, and their images. Then pay attention to how long the posts are, the frequency of the posts, the writing style, and the subject matter. If you’re for example creating a lifestyle blog, look at how other sites approach this topic etc. When you’re done, try to figure out the best time of day for you to publish your blog post by testing out different publishing times with your audience. It may also make more sense to publish the article at a certain time of day or during the week based on your readership. This will ensure you publish the post when your readers are already online!
