Classic wardrobes are in fashion no matter what the current trends are. However, many people are still associating the classy style with being a little snooty and stuck-up. However, don’t fall in those stereotypes because, in order to build a stylish wardrobe, you need to stock up on timeless classic pieces in flattering fits, shapes, and colors. These basics can layered with modern, trendy garments, or you can mix-and-match them with other timeless classics. In general, classic style staples are versatile pieces that can be layered, mixed, and matched in order to create an abundance of fresh and edgy looks.
Even though I’m always in the need of expressing myself through catchy clothes, on winter, I sometimes have my confort zone moments by adopting simple looks and just chill out without worrying that much(don’t worry, you can be comfy yet stylish). This is why, I always suggest to own basics pieces such as a pair of flat boots in your closet. You can’t imagine the number of ways you can wear a simple pair of boots, it’s virtually endless! So, look for a pair with few to no embellishments, they’ll be comfortable to walk in all day long. Plus, as color is always the key, go for deep, jewel-toned colors such as forest green or royal blue as they are absolutely perfect for a classic style! To go further, basic accessories are also needed! On neon colors, they are trendy and fun, but you shouldn’t waste a lot of money on accessories in these shades. For instance, black color on pumps are considered the most classic, but other neutrals may also work. If you’re used to the classic style, avoid wild colors and designs, and gravitate toward a neutral color with subtle detail.
This said, basic items are definitely investment pieces, so don’t be afraid to splurge on certain ones if the time is right and match them to the right season. They’re classics indeed and if you take care of them, they can last for years or even decades. They’ll carry you through work weeks during cozy days, at some dinners(of course it depends on what classics basic you choose to wear) and much more!
