Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend for the first time, the Cannes Yachting Festival thanks to Ferretti Group and their organisation(Here is my New Youtube Video, to watch the adventure!). First of all, some of you may probably remember my last collaboration with KLM Royal Dutch Airline where I revealed my following trip with them. Cannes was in fact, one of their destinations deal that I’d chosen! In my opinion, allowing yourself to discover another city, places and creating new contacts are the best elements to enjoy a trip and extend your culture acknowledge. Well, I faced the real ”cliché” of Cannes while walking among those high couture shops and palaces of La Croisette(you can’t miss this long avenue). I guess, the wealth and glamour of it all couldn’t fail to impress: while some were admiring Ferraris and Porsches belonging to a certain business owners, other where spotting on the glitzy sun lounger-striped beaches and liner-sized yachts moored at the port. I was one those who couldn’t afford some high priced products but could still enjoy a hot chocolate at the Armani Cafe(highly recommended) just in front of the Mediterranean Sea at la Croisette avenue. Therefore, I was surprisingly seduced by Cannes’ hedonistic air, with the harbour, the bay,the old quarter, Le Suquet and among all, the clutch of island off the coast such as the Sainte Marguerite Island, my island crush where nature, culture and relaxation are in a total harmony. Without mentioning its indescriptible landscape, the Fort Royal which was a former residence of the Man in the Iron Mask movie. Sincerely, through my eyes, these are the must-see when you’re in Cannes if you like walking along the see or montain, and having a natural fresh air.
Even though that trip helped me to know more about Cannes, it also made me discover the other side of this city which is the maritime aspect. Cannes is also known for being the most important nautical fair on the Mediterranean and as leader in the yachting sector with its Yachting Festival. I’ve seen there different boats builders attending this festival, showcasing global innovations to almost 50,000 visitors, key players from the international and luxury yachting field, including exhibitors, current and potential owners. As I told you previously, being part of the festival, allowed me to attend some press conference such as Ferretti Yatchs presentation of their new boats show season . They presented a prestigious fleet of 21 crafts, including as many as 2 world premieres: Ferretti Yachts 550 and Ferretti Yachts 700. Ferretti Group’s CEO, Alberto Galassi, presented an initial review of their key figures achieved this year and growth strategic plans for the next three years. From presentation to another, one of the last was Benetti‘s press conference where they also launched their new super yacht innovation called ”Viveti 125” with a stylish surname of ”the Iron Man”. The yacht was divided into 4 luxurious suites where each room had its own design and particularity(I let you discover my New youtube video about it) which impressed me from the point of view of the ingenuity building and architectural. All in all, if you’re planning to go somewhere in the future, may I recommend you to visit Cannes with its both sides: the nature that the city is offering and the fanciest places by taking care not to waste all of your money though!
